- In the beginning the rust may rub off slightly. Rusty water may leave traces behind, for example on patio tiles.
- Corten steel must not continiously be in contact with water (wet leaves). Allow to dry in between.
- Avoid contact with materials that can bring about an electrochemical reaction (zinc, cadmium).
- In coastal areas the salty atmosphere can have a negative effect on building up a firm patina. We recommend not to use Corten steel within a distance of 2 km of the sea.
- On your Tonnes table you may find the mark of the steel producer somewhere. This will eventually disappear during the rust formation.
