Tonnes Corten is an outdoor product for patio or garden, a work of art with a functional purpose made of 4 mm thick Corten steel following the timeless Tonnes design. One of the properties of this remarkable steel is that the built up corrosion protects the material. The corrosion process slows down until it eventually stops. The products never rust through! Differences in weather influences and environment also affect the process and accordingly the table’s appearance. No two tables are identical, hence everyone is unique.
Many outdoor artworks are made with this material, as well as noise barriers and façade panels on buildings.
Tonnes Corten is a very resistant side table that can stay outdoors permanently, but of course it can also be placed indoors.
Tonnes Corten is delivered in a firm cardboard box.
Measurements of the table: 500 x 400 x 400 mm (19.7 x 15.7 x 15.7 inch) (h x w x d). Table tops are 400 mm in diameter. Thickness Corten steel: 4 mm. (0.16 inch). Weight: 14.1 kg.
Upon receipt the Tonnes Corten, which is made of plain steel, looks black. When placed in the open-air the rust formation starts off. The color slowly changes from light orange to dark brown, a process that takes about one to two years, depending on humidity, shadow, sun and rain.
